Keerim Design been testing the latest version of WordPress and its theme, Twenty Seventeen. We are very impressed, so much so that here is a version of our own site ported to WordPress. We know that we have done this before, but this is the first time that we have been really happy with the outcome. It doesn’t have any of the constraints imposed by earlier versions and it is genuinely business-first rather than a blogging platform.
For the first time we feel that we are in a position to offer a choice between Drupal and WordPress for any project. Both have their strengths and weaknesses, but there is genuinely not much between them now. Also we are aware that many people believe, for whatever reason, that WordPress is better and easier to use than Drupal. We would still dispute that, but the time has come for us to make a genuine policy decision to offer both. We may advise under certain circumstances to offer one in preference to the other. However, we will always take the client’s preference into account.
Our summary, possibly WordPress is better for small brochure sites and Drupal may have the advantage where serious development work is required in the background.
In terms of eCommerce we are happy to offer either Drupal with Drupal Commerce or WordPress and WooCommerce. Both are good, but there is a little more flexibility with Drupal Commerce. In terms of payment systems we are now offering SagePay plus Internet Merchant Account, PayPal or Stripe. If you have a project talk to us about what might be best for you.
